Ideal for Poultry Feed Supplementation
Grit, which includes larger stones or particles, serves as a grinding aid in the gizzard, where food is broken down mechanically. Chickens lack teeth, so they ingest grit to aid in the digestion of grains and fibrous materials. Larger consistent particles of calcium carbonate act as effective grit, allowing the chickens to “crunch” and grind their food better, aiding digestion and nutrient absorption.
